Opinablogs is the new project of Jordi Perez and his company Brandea Studio. It’s a network of metroblogs with a specific focus on the opinions of the editors about places and businesses of the cities in which these metroblogs operate. The opinions are mainly related to hotels, restaurants, bars and shops. The editors write articles airing their opinion after visiting those places, which makes the site a kind of mix between metroblogs and user opinion sites like 11870.

In its launch, Opinablogs accounts for three city blogs in operation: Lloret, Girona and Ibiza. The plan is to reach 10 metroblogs in a short time and expand with new editors interested in writing about their cities. The editors who offer themselves to create a new Opinablog would be able to set their own pace of publication and will receive a percentage of the profits generated by the blog through advertising.

I think that the idea behind Opinablogs is very interesting. Mixing local information and content generated by the user is a great way to attract users, as people have a need to know real opinions about places they intend to visit. To this, if we add the format of a blog, with which people are increasingly becoming more comfortable, I think Brandea will be doing very well with this project.
